Strange Times

Look Up - Look Out - Enjoy the Day because Weathervanes are always a fun way to play.

Today I want to give out a great Shout-out to all our amazing customers and my one fan out in South Caroline with the Pig and Rooster Weathervane. This pandemic has been hard on us and has destroyed many small businesses in our area. We are so lucky to still be here making weathervanes for our great customers.

Without a doubt this year was odd, I have spoken with customers all over the country and have been shocked to hear some of the stories that they have survived in their small towns. Our local governments throughout these United States have done a great job on deciding which small companies survive and which will not.

Here in Maine we have been extremely lucky with our local government not really jumping into the major swarm of the politics that we see and hate on the news every day, but even still, some of the things they have done still make me cringe.

Here are only a few of the things that I noticed most during the pandemic here in Maine.

Hamburger was hitting close to $10 a pound while lobster was $3 a pound.

The poor folk were stuck with the steamer clams at $2 pound.

We are all Sick of ground lobster in the spaghetti.

Toilet Paper has gone up in price and is no longer being used as yard decorations.

Clorox Bleach Must has gone out of business since I have not seen them since the pandemic started.

Mask styles and shapes are now big business. (This brings back memories of the pet rock to me.)

Smiling People – (you have to look at the eyes!)

Magazines still show smiling people – how is this possible?

McDonalds and Burger King are the only two thriving restaurants left in town.

Walmart, Lowes and Home Depot are even bigger and scarier than ever.

To all our customers and friends, we miss you and hope you decide to visit Maine next summer. Have a fun and safe holiday season. Follow my example and learn to smile through your eyes.
